Celebrate life with Día de los Muertos
Día de los Muertos
Add some meaning to the spooky season with the Mexican Holiday.
Día de los Muertos, also known as the Day of the Dead, is a world-famous Mexican holiday honoring the Catholic traditions of All Saints Day and All Souls Day. All Saints Day on November 1st celebrates Catholic saints in heaven, while All Souls Day on November 2nd is dedicated to praying for the deceased to help them find eternal rest. Day of the Dead celebrations combine these holidays with indigenous ancestor veneration and cultural practices to create an entirely unique holiday that celebrates deceased loved ones with color, brightness, and fond memories.
Spooky season is more than just dressing up here, it is an opportunity to remember family members and friends, what they loved in life, and remind us that life isn’t the last time we can connect with those dear to us. During this time families create altars for loved ones that feature offerings like marigolds, candles, sugar skulls, and favorite foods of the departed- coffee included!
Get in on the good spirit this Día de los Muertos and reconnect with your late loved ones by buying the things they liked and doing the things they did. Death can’t stop the love.
