Get to know this excellente, warm cocktail recipe
The Oaxacan Cocktail, while named after the southern Mexican state, is actually from Los Estados Unidos (here!). Developed in New York in 2007 by bartender Phil Ward, the drink began to popularize the use of Mezcal in American cocktails. The drink has a million varieties and is easily customized, so feel free to experiment! Here is Sello Rojo’s unique bold take on the classic old fashioned.
Los Ingredientes
- 4 oz of our Tradicional Blend
- 1.5 oz Mezcal
- .5 oz Tequila
- .5 Herbal Liqueur (like Foro Amaro).
- 1 tsp Agave Syrup (optional)
- Orange Slice
Las instrucciones
- Brew your Tradicional blend and pour it into a mug.
- Add the mezcal, tequila and liqueurs.
- Stir thoroughly, and sweeten with agave syrup.
- Top with an orange slice, and squeeze a dash of orange in your mug for an extra touch.
