Overview

Derived from the word coraje meaning courage, Carajillo, a coffee cocktail with roots in Spain, is wildly popular in Colombia. Our Carajillo combines Authentic Colombian coffee with Aguardiente, an anise flavored spirit made from sugar cane, or rum. Enjoyed during festive occasions and social gatherings, it captures the rich flavors and traditions of Colombia.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of fresh brewed Intenso dark roast coffee blend
  • Aguardiente
  • Sugar
  • Lemon
  • Cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

1.

Pour the brewed coffee into a cup.

2.

Add ½ a cup of aguardiente to the coffee.

3.

Add sugar or sweetener if desired, and stir well to dissolve. Then add a lemon slice on top of the drink, and sprinkle in some cinnamon for flavor.

4.

Serve the Carajillo hot and enjoy the delightful combination of coffee and liquor.

Overview

Café de Olla, which translates to pot coffee, named after the traditional pots, Ollas, that are used to brew the rich and savory drink. It is prepared by brewing coffee with spices and sweetening it with unrefined cane sugar called panela.

The Colada is a pot of Cuba’s sweet and creamy espresso, Cafecito. Cafecitos become Coladas when they are prepared using a moka pot (La Cafetera), strained, poured into shot glasses, and shared with others. Coladas are communal in essence, and are poured to be shared among friends.
